IFA Coaching Staff Apart of NEW look england futsal performance pathway re-structure
The FA has announced changes it’s making to the England Futsal Performance Programme for next season in the quest to enhance England’s future standings in world futsal.
Academy Director, Michael Skubala will continue in his role as England Futsal Senior Assistant Coach and England Futsal Under 23 Head Coach, previously named the England Development Squad. Head of Coaching & Sport Science, Daniel Berdejo-del-Fresno will also continue in his role as England Futsal Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach.
The England senior futsal team have made significant strides over recent seasons. In 2009 England were ranked 127th in the world and over the course of six years the Lions have climbed 70 places to a more respectable 57th rank. There is still much to do for England to achieve a position in world futsal that The FA feels reflects their status as one of the top football nations.
International Futsal Academy Head of Development, Marc Forrest has been appointed as an England Futsal Under 19 Coach in the new performance pathway make-over with James Barlow having also been given a role as an England Futsal Under 19 Coach.
In order to maintain the momentum and progress on the international stage, The FA are making some significant changes to the England futsal talent development pathway to help ensure that the next generation of elite futsal players are of the necessary calibre and standard to keep driving forward the England futsal team.
