USA National Championships success for Berdejo-del-Fresno

International Futsal Academy Head of Coaching & Sport Science, Daniel Berdejo-del-Fresno has been coaching in the USA National Championships in Los Angeles.

Fresh from winning the FA National League Divison Two 2014/2015 title with Loughborough United, Daniel, also England Futsal Senior Squad Strength & Conditioning Coach, has been in America coaching young players throughout the summer trying to aid their development and offer his wealth of experience.

Berdejo-del-Fresno has earned success at the USA National Championships winning gold with the Under 19 team with a 5-4 victory in the final to become champions and also gaining a bronze medal with the Under 10 team.

Daniel was a member of the Team USA Coaching staff at the first Professional Futsal League event in 2014 ahead of the Professional Futsal League set to begin in September 2016.

 

Futsal featured in Financial Times

International daily newspaper, Financial Times, this week featured Futsal promoting the benefits following a day spent with the England Futsal Under 21 Development Squad at a recent camp at Moutlon College.

The day provided an opportunity for Spencer Brown from the Financial Times to gain first hand experience of what it was like to participate and train with many of the countries most gifted and talented young upcoming players. Players and staff from the International Futsal Academy were present.

The ongoing positive media surrounding Futsal is increasingly growing with the benefits undeniable. No doubt Futsal will continue to be gain recognition with recent FA figures showing a 64% rise participation within the last 12 months, a trend that is set to continue.

 

New book released by Berdejo-del-Fresno

International Futsal Academy Head of Coaching & Sport Science and England Futsal Senior Strength & Conditioning Coach, Daniel Berdejo-del-Fresno has released a book entitled “Futsal: Tactical & Technical Concepts.”

The main aim of the futsal book is to introduce a new, exciting sport and develop new skills to both novices and experienced, traditional footballers. The book focuses on the basic individual and team aspects, both attacking and defending, that are needed to understand, enjoy and play futsal. In addition, it is aimed at English-speaking coaches who do not have access to futsal material in Spanish, Portoguese or Italian.

The book has been developed as a resource to support coaches in a school or club environment.

FA Futsal Cup Finals for IFA Women

The International Futsal Academy Women reach the FA Futsal Cup Finals at the Copperbox Arena located in the Olympic Park in London, establishing them as one of the top four teams within the country.

Successfully qualifying from their group including Bristol City Futal Club, Docklands Ladies and Norton & Stockton Ancients FC. The IFA Women will now face Gloucestershire in the Semi Finals at 11.30am on Sunday 20th June for the chance to be crowned FA Futsal Cup Women Champions.

The four teams that will be competing for the title will be International Futsal Academy, Bristol City Futsal Club, Gloucestershire Futsal Club and Just a Ball Game. The final day will also see the FA Futsal Cup Finals will also see the Men’s competition conclude with Baku United, Helvecia FC, Genesis Futsal Club & Manchester Futsal Club.

 

 

 

 

FA FUTSAL GRAND FINALS AT ST GEORGE’S PARK

The International Futsal Academy enjoyed a fantastic day on Sunday at the FA National Grand Finals event at St George’s Park, the finale event of the England Futsal 2014/2015 season.

Players from the International Futsal Academy played in a Champions exhibition fixture against FS Derby following being crowned National League 2 Champions for their divisions. Loughborough United players were also presented with their league winner medals and trophy following the fixture.

Players from the International Futsal Academy Youth Development Centres were present enjoying a tour of the Football Assocation Headquarters, meeting and collecting autographs from the senior players and staff plus given the opportunity to act as mascots for the Champions fixture.

Goalkeeper, Mark Croft, represented both the England Under 19 North Squad and the International Futsal Academy in front of a sold out crowd including members of the England Senior coaching staff ahead of his first Senior camp next week in Hereford.

International Futsal Academy staff, Marc Forrest and James Barlow were present helping to lead the England Under 19 North Squad to a 3-2 victory over a strong South squad. The North v South fixtures provided an opportunity for the most talented players aged 16-19 in England to perform and develop.

Mark Croft Receives Senior England Call Up

International Futsal Academy Goalkeeper, Mark Croft has been selected and included for the next England Futsal Senior Futsal Training Camp to take place in Hereford next month.

Mark has had rapid development training full time and benefiting from performances in National League Two with Loughborough United and National League One with Loughborough Futsal Club. Mark has also stood out within the England Futsal national talent pathway.

With previous experience including GB Softball, County Cricket, England Beach Soccer plus Academy football, there is no question Mark’s future lies with Futsal.
